- Commonly used as resistance heater for cutting foam (styrofoam, polyurethane) fabric and various of other materials
- As electric heating wire, it is an accepted material for heating devices operating up to 1,000°C (1,850ºF)
- This encompasses most pluggable power cord domestic heating appliances and those heating units of medium temperatures which do not require unsurpassed quality of NI/CR-80/20, 80-20 alloy
