Pyrogel XTF Aerogel Material
Since sale aerogels typically have a much lower thermal conductivity and density than their parent materials, they can be used as insulators. Flammability will typically be higher due to the larger surface area and likely oxygen infiltration over time, even if oxygen was not present when the aerogel was made. Toxicity depends almost entirely on the constituent materials, with silica aerogels being largely inert and minimally contaminated. But carbon aerogels typically burn, and if you made an aerogel with fused plutonium dust it would be dangerous in all the ways that plutonium is.
Advantage of Pyrogel XTF Aerogel Material
1.Hydrophobic-The porous structure and vapour transission characteristics will not allow liquid water build up within the material, maintaining permability to water vapour, any water will be released as water vapour. If wet, Pyrogel will dry out rapidly, even after prolonged submersion.
2. Fire Resistant - whether it`s a pool of burning liquid hydrocarbons or a high-pressure jet fire impinging directly on the insulation, Pyrogel protects piping and equipment better than any other insulation material on the market
3. Lightweight - lighter than other insulation material on an installed basis. Pyrogel can be safely handled on the job site and reduces overall loading of the pipe and equipment support structure.
Application of Pyrogel XTF Aerogel Material
Are aerogel materials safe for the environment?
Silica aerogel materials are similar to minerals found in nature (silicates are the most abundant minerals on Earth) and do not contain or emit harmful chemicals. Carbon aerogels are also similar to minerals found in nature and are chemically no different than charcoal. Polymer aerogels such as RF aerogels and Airloy® aerogels are also generally not harmful however like other polymers and plastics care must be considered regarding biodegradability and methods of proper disposal.
