Introduction:

Polyurethane (commonly abbreviated PU) is a unique material that offers the elasticity of rubber combined with the toughness and durability of metal. It allows the engineer to replace rubber, plastic and metal with the ultimate in abrasion resistance and physical properties. Polyurethane can reduce plant maintenance.

Urethanes abrasion and tear resistance are much better than rubbers, while offering higher load bearing capacity. Comared to plastics, urethanes offer superior impact resistance, while offering excellent wear properties and elastic memory. And, PU is adance in weight reduction, noise abatement and wear impreovement than metal Parts.

SME has acid proof polyurethane pump parts to deal with different slurries. F6018U01 is polyurethane cover plate liner used in slurry pump SH/150E (Warman 8/6E-AH) to improve slurry-pumping capability.

Polyurethane product manufacturer SME is working closely with the mining industry to create abrasion-resistant polyurethane body liners and impellers for slurry pumps, which will extend the products' pump life.

The polyurethane formulation could also be used in pumps for chrome and for coal.
